Mariela McIlwraith, CMP, CMM, MBA is President of Meeting Change. She specializes in corporate social responsibility, pricing strategies and emerging issues in the event sector. Mariela has held international and chapter leadership roles with both Meeting Professionals International and the Green Meeting Industry Council. She is the co-author of Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility in the Meetings and Events Industry, a part of the Wiley Event Series, is the Executive Editor of the Convention Industry Council Manual, 9th Edition, and most recently, she has co-authored Meet Better: 167 Easy Ways to Make Your Events More Environmentally and Socially Responsible. She has been named a 2014 Meetings Trendsetter by Meetings Focus, a 2015 Changemaker by MeetingsNet and to the peer-nominated #CMP30 Influencers for the Convention Industry Council. She was inducted into the Meetings & Incentives Travel Hall of Fame in the category of Industry Builder in August, 2015. She is a recipient of the 2016 Convention Industry Council Pacesetter Awards. Debbie began her career 20 years ago with Meetings & Incentive Travel magazine as Event Manager of the Canadian Meetings & Incentive Travel Symposium and Trade Show, now called IncentiveWorks, and the Executive Travel & Corporate Meeting Planners trade shows - a series of trade shows that hit 15 cities in 2 weeks. During her time at Maclean Hunter and Rogers Media, she saw a need to create a much more high-end, stylish publication and resource that would complement the creativity and style of events that business event planners execute daily.  As a result Debbie and her business partner Richard Elliott left the corporate publishing world to pursue their vision and create a high style education resource that planners would love……one year Ignite was launched and next year will be their 10th anniversary.

Elizabeth Nutting graduated with a B.A.H. in Drama from Queen's University. Upon graduation, she was lucky enough to be accepted into the prestigious workstudy program at The Banff Centre where she studied Theatre Craft, Stage Carpentry, and Stage Management. After working as a set and costume designer for 10 years, she returned to school for a diploma in Event Management - Event and Exhibit Design at Seneca College. She now works in the corporate events industry as the Director of Events with Production Canada: combining her natural inclination to manage with her desire to design. And while she sometimes misses her homegrown theatre roots, she thrives on the fast paced large scale productions that corporate events are expected to create.

Jonathan Moneta is the creative director at MakeLab — a studio of designers, technologists, and logistics freaks who invent hands-on pop-up interactives for events. Three years ago, they took eight 3D printers to a Toronto bar and taught design ‘till last call. Jocelyn Flanagan CSEP


Jocelyn Flanagan is the Founder and CEO of e=mc2 events, and is also an idea initiator, a strategic wizard and a choreographer of things that matter.


Jocelyn holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Toronto and has achieved the highest level of industry certification as a Certified Special Event Professional. She is a founder of International Live Events Association (ILEA) Canada and past chair, has served as the Canadian representative on the International Relations Committee of ILEA. Justin Panzer has always been an organizer. Sébastien David


Co-owner of Senik Events, Sebastien discovered his passion for the event business in the late 80’s when he started a part-time job as a kid’s event animator/coordinator. While completing his political science degree, he rapidly became a senior planner and started to extend to corporate events.


In 1996, Sebastien opened his first event producing company, he was 21. In 2002, he met Nicholas-Olivier and one year later, Senik Events was born. Senik Events is producing more than 125 events per year throughout Canada and the U.S. and has two offices, Montreal and Quebec City.
